A solid fifteen carat gold collar pin. The pin is made in the form of a classic 'safety pin', and are designed to pull the collar together, and sit under a tie.  A look that was very popular during the late 19th, and early 20th Centuries.  It provides a very neat and clean look to formal attire, and has been adopted by some notable designers today.

The launch of period television shows such as "Boardwalk Empire", and "Peaky Blinders" has brought this period style to the forefront of men's style again.  This pin essentially does the job of a tab collar shirt, for those shirts that do not had the button. This type of shirt has been made by Tom Ford for James Bond's character in recent films.  

They may also be used as a decorative item on a lapel, or pinning a tie in a similar vein to a tie slide. The pin is stamped "15" on the catch of the pin.  The hue of the old gold is gorgeous.  There is a light pink hue to it, and not in the red variation popular today.  It is much more subtle and beautiful.
